Cynthia helps clients strategically resolve cross-border disputes and overcome the challenges they face in growing business abroad.

Cynthia focuses on resolving cross-border commercial disputes, including both litigation and international arbitration. She also offers expertise in navigating economic sanctions, export controls, and other regulatory compliance matters, providing comprehensive professional support to PRC domestic and international clients.

Cynthia helps client to proactively identify and assess potential risks and develops practical dispute resolution strategies by collaborating closely with client to understand their business needs and working seamlessly with relevant Dorsey offices across various states in the U.S. and other jurisdictions to advance the litigation or arbitration cases.

Cynthia leverages her experience in cross-border investment, particularly M&A projects, to provide unique insights in resolving disputes arising from such transactions.

With deep understanding of and first-hand practice experience in the Chinese legal and regulatory environment, Cynthia offers expert counsel to international clients navigating complex legal issues in China.

Prior to joining Dorsey, Cynthia served in a PRC judicial authority, a top international law firm, and a top PRC law firm.

  • Assisted a leading Chinese new energy enterprise in successfully resolving a multi-billion dollar international dispute with a world-renowned EV automaker.
  • Assisted an industry fund of a PRC central government-owned enterprise and its listed entity in handling a series of important cross-border disputes arising from a cross-border M&A transaction with an international industry giant, including providing services related to U.S. litigation, overall strategy formulation, and communication and reporting to the central enterprise headquarters. The amount reached around a hundred million USD. 
  • Assisted multiple PRC state-owned banks in handling issues in relevant U.S. litigation proceedings, including opposing or responding to the plaintiff’s pre-trial discovery requests.
  • Assisted a PRC state-owned bank in handling U.S. legal proceedings and risk prediction analysis related to a global fraud case in the reinsurance industry.
  • Assisted a top PRC real estate company in handling an international arbitration case at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) concerning disputes arising out of an M&A transaction with a top international investment management company, for disputed amount over a hundred million USD.
  • Assisted a PRC domestic pre-IPO company in starting a lawsuit in the U.S. against a mobile application that infringed its intellectual property, including serving the defendant through the Hague Service Convention, issuing subpoenas to Google as a third-party platform, and applying for permanent injunctions.
  • Assisted a top e-commerce platform by advising on U.S. legal system, legal principles, and specific U.S. legal rules in a contract dispute governed by New York law tried by a PRC court.
  • Assisted a listed company and its Hong Kong subsidiary in an international arbitration at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) concerning an M&A dispute with another Hong Kong company.
  • Assisted a state-owned company in handling an international arbitration at the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) concerning an M&A dispute with a Cayman Islands company.
