Dorsey Partner Edward J. Loya, Jr. has been elected as the Council of Affiliates’ Delegate to the Hispanic National Bar Association’s (“HNBA”) Board of Governors, a voting position on the Board.
As a Delegate on the HNBA’s Council of Affiliates, Edward will advance HNBA’s work and mission by promoting member engagement, identifying issues and topics relevant to HNBA’s affiliate organization members, and engaging with and providing support to the HNBA affiliate organizations.

Edward is the Immediate Past President of the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association (“DHBA”)—an HNBA affiliate organization he helped grow to more than 700 active attorney and law student members, making it one of the largest local Hispanic bar associations in the country. He also serves as Co-Chair of HNBA’s Standing Committee on Endorsements and as a member of the State Bar of Texas’ Hispanic Lawyers Section Council.

“Service to others is a core component of my practice. I am grateful to my colleagues at HNBA for asking me to continue to support them in our shared effort of contributing leadership and ideas in furtherance of the Hispanic community,” said Edward.

“Edward is a respected voice in the Hispanic legal community, with a long-standing record of leadership and service. Dorsey is proud to recognize his dedication and impact across Texas and beyond,” said Dorsey Managing Partner Peter Nelson.

The HNBA is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of more than 78,000 Hispanic attorneys, law students, and other legal professionals, including judges, law professors, and legal assistants in the United States and its territories. Since 1972, the HNBA has acted as a force for positive change within the legal profession by creating opportunities for Hispanic lawyers and by helping generations of lawyers to succeed.
