Dorsey & Whitney LLP in Salt Lake City recently achieved a property rights victory when the jury awarded Dorsey’s client $1.6 million in damages, with a pending fee application for another $1 million, in the Third District Court for Salt Lake County.
The verdict follows almost five years of litigation to protect the property rights of the client, which owns and operates a mixed-used real estate project in Sugarhouse, Utah.
The jury deliberated for two days following an eight-day jury trial over the rights of the client to protect itself and its tenants from ongoing trespass, nuisance, and interference from a neighbor that built a seven-story, large mix-use project along the property lines of the parties.
The Dorsey team included Bryon Benevento, Chris Martinez, Maryann Bauhs, and Christopher Taylor.
