Bryon Benevento To Co-Chair Products Liability Practice Group; Sam Gardiner To Co-Chair Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group

International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that its Management Committee has named Bryon Benevento as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Products Liability Practice Group and Sam Gardiner as Co-Chair of the Firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Group. Both are Partners in Dorsey’s Salt Lake City office.

In addition to his extensive products liability defense work, Mr. Benevento's practice focuses on complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. He currently serves as national counsel for clients in the automotive and healthcare sectors. Mr. Benevento’s products liability experience includes wrongful death and personal injury due to defective design, manufacturing defects and inadequate warnings. He has extensive commercial litigation experience including breach of contract, business torts, shareholder disputes, anti-trust, eminent domain, RLUIPA, and other complex commercial matters, and his IP litigation experience includes patent, trademark, trade dress, trade secrets and copyright infringement matters. Speaking of his appointment, Mr. Benevento said, “Dorsey offers our local and national clients significant expertise in products liability, and I am pleased and honored to assist in the leadership of the Practice Group.”

Mr. Gardiner’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate finance, securities and corporate governance. His M&A experience includes both public and private transactions, representing strategic and financial buyers and sellers in various industries. Mr. Gardiner also represents companies and investors in venture capital and other private equity financings, registered public equity financings, debt financings, PIPEs, recapitalizations, restructurings and strategic partnering transactions. His corporate clients range from emerging companies to mature public companies. He also represents boards of directors, private equity and venture capital investors, investment banks and other financial institutions.

Dorsey’s national M&A practice has been ranked in the top 10 of all law firms for the number of U.S. M&A deals completed in each of the last 19 consecutive years, according to Thomson Reuters.
