A team of Dorsey & Whitney attorneys helped achieve a landmark victory for client Regional Transportation District (RTD) in a high-stakes legal case begun in 2018.
Dorsey represented the RTD in litigation relating to their $2.2 billion P3 project constructing a commuter rail system in the Denver metropolitan area. RTD, the agency that operates public transportation in the Denver metro area, was sued by the project’s design/build group. Damages of $112 million were sought in connection with the claims relating to crossing gate problems. On Friday, February 10, 2023, the judge ruled in favor of Dorsey’s client RTD and awarded $0 in damages to the design/build group.
