Overview

AMY ASSISTS CLIENTS IN LEVERAGING THEIR INNOVATIONS THROUGH PATENT PROSECUTION AND PATENT PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT. SHE COLLABORATES WITH CLIENTS TO OBTAIN STRONG PROTECTION OF THEIR IP ASSETS. 

As an associate in Dorsey’s Denver office, Amy focuses on preparing and prosecuting strong patents and assisting clients in understanding the impacts of patent law on their businesses. Amy enjoys working with clients to navigate the complexities of intellectual property law as they apply to complex and quickly evolving technologies.

Amy has experience preparing and prosecuting utility patents in a wide variety of technical areas, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, virtualized software systems, augmented and virtual reality, medical diagnostic software, industrial systems, data storage, wireless communications, automotive technology, and consumer products. In addition, Amy helps clients assess patentability, manage infringement risk, and identify new patentable inventions.

In addition to preparing and prosecuting utility patents, Amy enjoys assisting technical clients with other areas of intellectual property, including licensing and open source software. She also has experience in preparing and prosecuting design patent applications, assisting start-ups with developing IP strategies and best practices, and performing due diligence on intellectual property assets in corporate mergers, acquisitions, and capital transactions.

As a naturally curious technology enthusiast, Amy enjoys learning from clients and diving into technological details. Amy has technical experience in robotics, control systems, and image processing and is currently pursuing a second Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science.
