International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Partners Thomas Gorman and Kent Schmidt and Associate Kimberly Frumkin have all been recognized in JD Supra 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards.

Mr. Gorman was selected as the number one author in the Securities category and a top author in the Compliance category. Ms. Frumkin was recognized as a top author in the Compliance category for her work on the Anti-Corruption Digest. Mr. Schmidt’s practice includes virtually all types of general business litigation, with an emphasis in unfair business practices, trade secret litigation, consumer class actions, product liability, securities litigation and enforcement, commercial disputes and Prop 65 (environmental) claims. He is a zealous and creative courtroom advocate, representing both plaintiffs and defendants. In addition to his general business litigation practice, Mr. Schmidt is an experienced First Amendment lawyer, representing clients on both sides of defamation cases and other matters involving free speech including California’s unique anti-SLAPP statute. He is the author of Left Coast Law, a blog that discusses the unique challenges of doing business in California and avoiding litigation and other claims.

Ms. Frumkin’s practice focuses on the representation of individuals and corporations being investigated or sued by federal and state securities agencies. She has experience conducting internal investigations of corporations facing government scrutiny. She has also worked with both companies and individuals responding to government subpoenas. Ms. Frumkin is also an editor of the Firm’s Anti-Corruption Digest, a monthly publication that reports on anti-corruption issues around the globe.

The Readers’ Choice Awards recognize top authors being read by C-suite executives, in-house counsel, media, and other professionals. The awards recognize authors for the excellent visibility and engagement they attained with readers in specific industries. JD Supra editors chose 26 main topics for their timeliness as well as their proven, ongoing importance.
