Surya Saxena has returned to Dorsey & Whitney LLP as a Partner in the Government Solutions & Investigations (GSI) group in Minneapolis, the law firm announced today.

“We are thrilled that Surya returned to Dorsey. He strengthens our government enforcement and trial capabilities with a wealth of experience,” said Beth Forsythe, Partner and GSI Practice Group Co-Leader for Dorsey.

A former federal prosecutor and in-house counsel, Surya represents clients in government enforcement matters, investigations, white collar crime matters, and complex civil litigation. Surya has tried over a dozen cases before federal and state juries, argued numerous times before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and represented clients at multiple arbitration hearings. Surya leads litigation and investigations teams in a wide variety of civil, criminal, and regulatory matters, including False Claims Act investigations and litigation, healthcare fraud matters, FCPA and anticorruption investigations, regulatory compliance investigations, and complex commercial litigation.

Surya is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only organization of trial lawyers. In 2023, he was appointed by Governor Tim Walz to serve as a member of Minnesota’s Sentencing Guidelines Commission.

Surya received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from University of Minnesota – Twin Cities.

“I’m excited to join Dorsey’s robust international platform and its growing GSI practice,” said Surya Saxena. “I look forward to contributing to the firm’s GSI and trial practices to serve our clients.”
