Attorney Marcie Shuman has joined Dorsey & Whitney LLP as Of Counsel in the Real Estate group in Phoenix, the law firm announced today.
Marcie’s practice focuses on transactions for homebuilders, master planned communities, and commercial development, including land acquisitions, state land patents, finished lot sales, and land banking. She conducts due diligence, title review, and closings. Marcie drafts sale and development agreements, CC&Rs, easements, leases, public reports, and all other documents required for a successful acquisition and a future residential community or commercial hub. Her corporate practice dovetails nicely with experience in joint ventures, entity organization, independent service contracts, compliance, and audits. She also regularly negotiates and drafts government service agreements on behalf of non-profits.
Marcie received her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law, her M.P.A. from Maxwell School of Citizenship & Public Affairs, and her B.S. from University of Utah. Marcie comes to Dorsey from Gammage & Burnham PLC.
“The Valley remains one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing real estate markets in the country, and Dorsey now has a team of 10 real estate lawyers in the Phoenix office. Marcie’s extensive experience further strengthens our capabilities and enhances our ability to deliver practical, results-oriented solutions across the industry. We are thrilled to welcome her to Dorsey,” said Scott Jenkins, Dorsey’s Phoenix office head.
“I’m excited to join Dorsey’s growing Phoenix office and its distinguished Real Estate practice,” said Marcie Shuman. “The Phoenix team is dynamic, collaborative, and forward-thinking – the hallmark traits of success. I look forward to contributing and developing the practice further to serve our clients.”
