VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Dec. 6, 2006) – Global law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP today announced that Vancouver partner Daniel M. Miller, 35, was named one of Canada’s top 40 lawyers under age 40 by legal industry publication Lexpert. A panel of chairpersons, managing partners and other executives from law firms and corporations in Canada reviewed reader-submitted nominations to make the top lawyer selections.
Miller has extensive experience advising Canadian companies on U.S. public and private securities offerings, including offerings under the Multijurisdictional Disclosure System (MJDS), Rule 144A, Regulations S and Regulation D. Miller also regularly advises U.S. and Canadian clients on corporate governance matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley, and U.S. corporate and securities laws applicable to foreign companies operating in the United States.
“We’re proud that Dan – one of the few lawyers practicing exclusively U.S. law in Canada – has been recognized for his contributions to the legal and business communities in Canada,” said Jeffrey A. Peterson, head of the Dorsey Vancouver office. “Dan has devoted himself to his clients’ success. This honor reflects his first-rate legal ability, dedication to client service, business insight, integrity and leadership.”
Miller earned his LL.B./M.B.A degree from the University of Toronto. Prior to joining Dorsey in 2005, he was associated with another major law firm, where he focused on U.S.-Canadian cross-border securities transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
