International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Jenny Lee has joined the Firm’s Trial Group as a Partner in Washington, D.C.

Ms. Lee represents financial services firms and banks in government investigations, Congressional inquiries, and litigation matters involving federal or state consumer financial statutes and implementing regulations. She also reviews high risk products and services and performs compliance control reviews and regulatory reviews in connection with corporate transactions and bank supervisory exams. Ms. Lee also advises clients on institutional compliance with numerous federal consumer financial protection laws, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Electronic Fund Transfer Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Military Lending Act, and the Consumer Financial Protection Act’s prohibition on unfair, deceptive and abusive practices. She also counsels emerging technology companies on issues related to consumer lending, mobile banking, privacy, data protection and virtual currencies.

Ms. Lee joins Dorsey from DLA Piper’s Financial Services Regulatory Practice. Before joining DLA Piper in 2014, she was an Enforcement Attorney in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s (CFPB) Field Litigation Team from the CFPB’s founding in 2011 through 2014. At the CFPB, she led investigations of financial services firms; negotiated consent orders and stipulations and admissions with such firms; and served as the CFPB’s Enforcement Division’s representative on supervisory examinations conducted by the CFPB under its visitorial powers. Ms. Lee has a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and a B.S. degree from Duke University.
