GEOFF HELPS CLIENTS EFFICIENTLY RESOLVE COMPLEX INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY DISPUTES.

Geoff is Co-Chair of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation and strategic counseling, with an emphasis on patent matters. For more than 20 years, Geoff has represented innovative companies across a range of industries in trial, appellate, patent office, and ITC proceedings. Geoff’s cases have involved an array of technologies, including wireless networks, smartphones, computer security systems, recombinant proteins, medical devices, social media, and software. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants in venues across the country, including patent litigation hotspots in Texas, Delaware, and California. Geoff works closely with his clients to identify and achieve their strategic objectives in a cost-effective and creative manner.

  • Representing Index Newspapers in petitioning the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington to unseal certain judicial records in electronic surveillance cases
  • Representing Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) in dependency trial proceedings
  • Assisting the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law in identifying the legal implications of school disciplinary practices
  • Representing individuals seeking asylum in the United States 
  • Co-teaching the mock trial program for Citizen Schools, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to providing after-school education for middle-school children
  • Developing software for California Rural Legal Assistance to determine the amount of unpaid wages, applicable penalties, and other amounts owed to agricultural workers by their employers
