On April 2, 2024, Governor Kim Reynolds signed Iowa’s religious freedom restoration act into law, effective immediately. While supporters praised the law’s commitment to strengthening the free exercise of religion, some opponents expressed concerns that the law could lead to discrimination justified on religious grounds.
