Rick Galati

Rick shares with clients his expertise in the fields of mechanical engineering, medical device engineering, electrical engineering, and software, among others, to establish meaningful patent protection for their most valued intellectual property. Rick has provided extensive patent counsel in technologies related to consumer electronics, keyboards and other computer interface devices, green energy and electrical utility management, surgical devices, scientific instruments, therapeutic devices, and sports equipment, among others, in the United States and abroad.

Rick also assists with trademark and other IP portfolio management. Clients seek his counsel with trademark applications, non-disclosure agreements, contract disputes, patent licensing, and patent and trademark litigation.

Prior to joining the Salt Lake City office of Dorsey & Whitney, Rick practiced as a registered patent attorney in private practice in Utah and California, including serving as IP counsel to multiple startup engineering companies.
