International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Alan Farkas has joined the Firm’s Corporate group as a partner in its London office. Mr. Farkas has extensive experience in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers and joint ventures. He also specializes in advising public companies and their advisers on all types of Stock Exchange transactions, including flotations or initial public offerings and secondary issues such as placings and rights issues.

Mr. Farkas’s practice also focuses on oil and gas. He works regularly for field service companies on transactions involving the U.K. and Norwegian Continental Shelf, as well as projects in West Africa, Asia and the Middle East. He has significant experience in the acquisition of large scale oil and gas assets.

Mr. Farkas was previously a partner in the London office of Pinsent Masons. He is a solicitor of the Law Society of England & Wales and received his legal education at the University of Sussex.
