SUSTAINING OUR CLIENT SERVICE MISSION.
Dorsey participates in initiatives aimed at strengthening our firm and sustaining our client service mission through diversity and inclusion.
The Firm launched the Dorsey & Whitney Diversity Fellowship program in 2006. Fellowship recipients are first- or second-year summer associates in our Minneapolis or Seattle offices and receive a stipend towards law school tuition and expenses. Our Seattle office is currently accepting applications from 1L students for the 2017 Dorsey Diversity Fellowship. Click here to access the application and information form.
Dorsey participates in the annual Hennepin County Bar Association Minority Clerkship Program (formerly the MSBA Minority Clerkship Program), which matches a first-year minority law student with the firm for summer employment. The firm has participated in the Minority Clerkship Program each year since its inception in 2006.
Dorsey is a founding member of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and participates in its Summer Rotation 1L Clerkship Program each year. Through this program, first-year law students spend seven weeks at Dorsey and three weeks at an in-house legal department.
We are proud to partner with local organizations in the promotion of diversity within the legal community and the advancement of top diverse legal talent. Every summer Dorsey hires several law students through diversity clerkship programs. Past participants represented the Colorado Pledge to Diversity’s 1L Clerkship Program, the Hennepin County Bar Association’s 1L Minority Clerkship Program, the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity 1L Scholars Program and the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice 1L Summer Rotation Clerkship Program. Additionally, Dorsey hosted the final round of interviews for the Hennepin County Bar Association’s 1L Clerkship Minority Program in 2015.
