This statement is published by Dorsey & Whitney (Europe) LLP (a limited liability partnership registered in New York and registered at Companies House as an overseas entity) pursuant to section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. This statement constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 31 December 2025 and sets out the steps we have taken during the year to address slavery and human trafficking risks in our business and supply chain.
Our Firm
Dorsey & Whitney (Europe) LLP (“Dorsey”) is a law firm authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Dorsey is the London office of the global law firm Dorsey & Whitney. Dorsey employs more than 30 members of staff and is committed to conducting its business ethically and in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.
Our Supply Chain
Our business is predominantly office-based and we have a relatively simple and limited supply chain supporting these operations. Our key suppliers are businesses that provide the goods and services we need to operate our office, and to support the provision of legal services to our clients. Our main supplier categories include property and facilities services, cleaning, catering, security, IT and software providers, document storage, recruitment, professional advisers, travel providers, office equipment and other business support services.
Policies and Due Diligence
We are strongly committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in any aspect of our business and supply chain. We maintain policies and procedures designed to support lawful and ethical recruitment, employment and business conduct. We also conduct due diligence on our prospective employees prior to them joining Dorsey. When recruiting, we comply with all employment legislation and any applicable regulations. We are committed to fair reward through our policies on salaries, bonuses and access to the benefits scheme.
In relation to our supply chain, we consider modern slavery risks as part of supplier onboarding. We also undertake a regular review of our business policies and procedures to ensure that the preventive measures we take are appropriate and proportionate to the level of risk our suppliers may pose for our organisation.
Risk Assessment and Management
As a regulated provider of legal services and employer of predominantly professionally qualified and highly skilled people, we have assessed that the risk of modern slavery within our business is low. We apply appropriate policies and procedures in relation to employment screening (including work eligibility checks) and employment conditions.
During the financial year covered by this statement, we did not identify any occurrence of modern slavery in our supply chain.
Concluding Statement
We will continue to review our policies, processes and controls to ensure they are operating effectively and proportionately to the risks faced within our business and supply chain. We will continue to make efforts to identify any significant risks in our business and supply chain and implement any actions appropriate or necessary directly with suppliers and vendors.
