MINNEAPOLIS (December 19, 2008) — Dorsey & Whitney was a sponsor of the LifeScience Alley Conference and Expo on Dec. 10, 2008, in Minneapolis. LifeScience Alley is a Minnesota-based trade association serving the life sciences through leadership, collaboration, innovation, advocacy, and education.
Dorsey sponsored several of the conference sessions, and Dorsey attorneys led the discussion in a number of significant legal areas.
Dorsey partner Steven Nelson – head of the Dorsey China offices, Chair of the Asia Practice group and co-chair of the International Litigation & Arbitration Practice group – moderated the panel, “Doing Business in China: Balancing Opportunity Against Potential Risk,” which included speakers from St. Jude Medical, Medtronic and Surgical Technologies Inc.
Associate Alicia Mills, a member of the firm’s Technology and Patent groups, moderated the panel, “The Strategy of Innovation: Maximizing the Value of Your Intellectual Property Assets,” which included panelists from Mayo Clinic, Vascular Solutions, Inc., and the California Polytechnic Institute.
Corporate partner Jeffrey Saunders moderated the panel, “Packaging Your Ideas for Success: What Attracts Investors.” The panel also included participants from 3M, Waterford Consulting and Berman Medical.
