The President-Elect of the State Bar of Texas, Santos Vargas, appointed Edward Loya to a three-year term as a member of the State Bar of Texas Court Rules Committee. Created in 1941, the Committee considers revisions of the Rules of Practice in civil actions and the statutes of Texas relating thereto. The Committee’s purpose is to enhance fairness to litigants, judicial efficiency and economy, and the reduction of the cost of litigation.

“Fairness to all parties, court rules that promote efficient and cost-effective litigation, and the just administration and resolution of cases are hallmarks of our civil justice system,” Edward said. “I am honored to be asked to serve Texas litigants, lawyers, and courts in furtherance of these important goals.”

Edward is a Litigation Partner at Dorsey & Whitney LLP and leads the Firm’s Dallas Trial Practice Group. He is an accomplished trial attorney who has represented companies and executives across a range of industries in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration tribunals. An experienced white-collar defense attorney, he also regularly represents companies and individuals in criminal and civil white-collar investigations and government enforcement actions.
