Only two months into 2024 the U.S. is experiencing significant layoffs in industries across the country - from big tech to office leasing companies, retailers, and more.
Minneapolis Labor & Employment Partner Rebecca Bernhard was interviewed by Bloomberg Law podcast host June Grasso about how companies can prepare for mass layoffs. Rebecca suggested four key areas to focus on from the WARN Act to rereading union contract agreements.
“With so many companies announcing layoffs, and the economists predicting more on the way, it is important for employers who are contemplating reductions in their workforce to keep several employment laws in mind,” said Rebecca.
