On November 26, 2013, the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone (the "PFTZ") Arbitration Court of Shanghai held a hearing in its first ever commercial arbitration case, in a dispute involving an industrial gas supply contract. The claimant is a foreign-invested enterprise registered by a Fortune 500 company in the PFTZ, and the respondent is one of the leading enterprises in the domestic photovoltaic industry. The presiding arbitrator of the arbitral tribunal for the case was Dorsey & Whitney partner Peter Corne, head of the Firm’s Shanghai office. The other two arbitrators were Mr. Chen Zhidong, Professor of the Law School of Fudan University, and Mr. Chen Naiwei, Dean of the Inns of Court of Fudan University. Peter was appointed by Shanghai International Arbitration Commission ("SHIAC") as lead arbitrator because of his experience in the clean energy and industrial gas industries.

The PFTZ Arbitration Court is a work platform established by SHIAC in the PFTZ.
