International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that George Foote has joined its Washington DC office as a Partner in the Regulatory Affairs department. Mr. Foote’s practice focuses on telecommunications regulatory and transactional representation. His principal agency focus is the Federal Communications Commission, where he provides policy, litigation and transactional counsel to public bodies and commercial clients. His FCC engagements have covered a wide range of issues, including, wireless and broadband matters, Universal Service Fund and E-Rate program issues, satellite and cable transactions, and issues relating to pole attachments and smart metering. He also serves as outside general counsel to the United States Institute of Peace. Mr. Foote was previously a partner at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, where he led the telecommunications practice.

He received a B.A. from Washington & Lee, and a J.D. (1974) and LL.M. (1978) from the Georgetown University Law Center. He started his legal career as an associate at Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft in 1978.
