International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Tim Branson of the Firm’s Minneapolis office has been named recipient of the Earl Larson Award by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) ACLU of Minnesota. The award is presented annually to honor those attorneys who have pursued a lifelong commitment to justice and civil liberties work. The award was named for the founder of the ACLU of Minnesota, Federal Judge Earl Larson. Past recipients of the award include former Vice President, Ambassador and Dorsey Senior Counsel Walter Mondale, the Honorable Rosalie Wahl, Peter Dorsey, Leonard Lindquist and Thomas Kayser.
“This is wonderful recognition for Tim and his many years of service in a pro bono capacity to a wide range of causes, said Perry Wilson, Dorsey’s Pro Bono Partner. “I know I speak for all of Dorsey in saying we are extremely proud of Tim.”
“Judge Larson was a real champion of civil liberties, and I am happy to receive an award that bears his name,” said Tim. “I have long been pleased to be associated with a law firm and an organization like the ACLU of Minnesota that value civil liberties and equal rights under the law.”
