MINNEAPOLIS (October 19, 2009) - International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that John Seymour is joining its Minneapolis office as an Of Counsel.
Previously, Mr. Seymour was Executive Director, Wind Energy Development for NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, a subsidiary of FPL Group and the largest producer of wind and solar energy in the United States. Most recently, he successfully developed a 215 mile, 345 kV transmission line in support of wind energy projects in West Texas. Mr. Seymour has also led the acquisition and/or development of 400 megawatts of wind energy projects in Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Wyoming and Oregon, as well as the development of a substantial pipeline of additional projects throughout the western United States.
Mr. Seymour received a B.S. from the University of Maryland University College and a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1991. He began his legal career as an associate with White & Case in New York before joining Dorsey as an associate in 1994.
