The presentation will include discussion of the recent legal developments and trends in California, together with practical and strategic guidance in avoiding wage and hour pitfalls. Topics discussed will include but are not limited to properly implementing furloughs and other cost savings measures, recognizing California litigation trends related to proper payment of wages including calculations of the regular rate of pay, commissions, bonuses and other forms of incentive compensations, managing employee breaks in light of wage and hour class actions, litigation trends related to employee classification and quick fixes in minimizing risk related to the same, among others.
