International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that it has been ranked once again in the Bloomberg Law’s Above the Law Power 100 for 2018.

The ATL Power 100 blends objective data points (changes in headcount over time, promotional prospects, number of women partners) with subjective feedback regarding reputation (for strength and quality of practice and as a potential employer) from over 20,000 associates, partners, and other members of the legal community to rank law firms in a way that is intended to be of use to career-minded young lawyers.  Dorsey moved 36 places up the Power 100 rankings for 2018.

“We are delighted to have had a strong ranking in this year’s ATL Power 100,” noted Ken Cutler, Managing Partner of Dorsey & Whitney. “We moved up the Power 100 rankings significantly over the last year, and I think that accurately reflects a very healthy dynamic and a great energy at Dorsey.  Last year, we opened our 20th office world-wide in Dallas and continued to add incredible talent at all levels and in practically all our practices areas across the platform. We rank high for the excellence of our practices, and we are also consistently recognized for our pro bono work and other service to our communities around the world and for the quality of our workplace. I’m very proud of that.”

“Whether it is high rankings in Chambers USA or winning recognition as a top “Banking & Finance” firm by China Business Law Journal or being listed as a “Best Law Firm for Women” by Working Mother magazine for the tenth time or a 100% rating by the Corporate Equality Index for the twelfth year, it all reflects a great place to do high quality and sophisticated work in a collaborative and supportive environment,” added Partner Sandy Edelman, a member of Dorsey’s Management Committee. “It all contributes to the kind of reputational image that the Power 100 attempts to measure.”
