Dorsey & Whitney LLP is proud to announce its Future Leaders Program. A handful of talented, diverse young people will have the opportunity to work alongside our attorneys in our New York office as interns. The week-long program will offer our Future Leaders an internship that has been highly praised by its alumni and found valuable for its hands-on and in-depth material. Our law firm will give you direct access to partners and associates who have successful, busy practices.
Future Leader participants will learn first-hand about research, negotiations, practice of law and the legal industry from seasoned industry experts. The necessary business and employment skills to obtain a position within a top-tier firm will be covered in detail, including interview skills, resume building, business dress, office and employment etiquette and what employers look for in job candidates. This excellent opportunity aims to further the Future Leaders’ understanding of what it means to work in a professional firm and what it is like to serve our clients and community.
Professionals at Dorsey & Whitney LLP from various areas will spend time with the chosen applicants in a group and individually as mentors. Interested applicants should have a high level of maturity and demonstrate an interest in leadership in their community. Applicants will be asked to provide one reference and a short essay. Applicants should be currently enrolled in a college degree program (in exceptional cases, we will consider a law student).
The week-long program will occur June 3 – June 7, 2019. In addition to receiving mentoring and attending social events, participants will receive a stipend and NYC commuting expenses.
