International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Case Collard, a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Group in Denver, has been named one of DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL’S 2016 40 Under 40.

Mr. Collard helps clients resolve complex business disputes and protect their intellectual property. His practice focuses on patent disputes but includes software licensing, trade secrets, and other commercial litigation. He provides practical and cost effective options alongside creative legal strategies. Mr. Collard prosecutes and defends cases around the country, but primarily in Colorado and California where he is a member of the bar. His computer science background and admission to the patent bar allow him to work closely with experts and inventors and handle IP disputes at the USPTO or in the courts.

Mr. Collard is committed to giving back to the community. He has been a volunteer firefighter with the Golden Fire Department since 2009. He is a member the Denver Rotary Club and will begin serving on the Board of Directors in summer 2016. He is committed to pro bono efforts as a member of the Faculty of Federal Advocates and a participant in the U.S. District of Colorado Civil Pro Bono Program.

He has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by Colorado Super Lawyers for the three years in a row (2014-2016). Each year, the DENVER BUSINESS JOURNAL has a panel of judges sift through hundreds of nominations — nearly 400 this year — and choose 40 leaders younger than 40 who already have accomplished much in their professional lives while giving back to the community.

“Case is a preeminent IP lawyer who has built a thriving practice while giving back generously to the profession and to the community,” noted Ken Cutler, Managing Partner of Dorsey & Whitney. “We are extremely proud of his achievements and of this recognition.”
