Suddenly GSE reform has become a front-burner issue.  The Senate has confirmed Mark Calabria as the new head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, which is the conservator for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.  Democrats and Republicans are negotiating on a possible bipartisan compromise to resolve the housing conservatorships.  This Roundtable session presented an overview of possible GSE reforms, including both current Administration, Congressional and trade association proposals.

Although not receiving the same degree of national press, innovations in blockchain technology have rapidly evolved though government and private initiatives—with many states now adopting or considering blockchain laws and regulations.  The speakers addressed the value of blockchain from a banking perspective—will it be merely a new technology or truly transformative?
