Dorsey & Whitney LLP has appointed finance and restructuring lawyer Peter Knust as Of Counsel in its London office, strengthening its UK offering in cross-border finance and restructuring matters.

Peter joins from Fieldfisher, where he spent the past three years.

He has specialized in corporate trust work throughout his career, advising trustees, agents, and service providers on a range of finance transactions, including structured finance, debt capital markets, and project finance. A key part of his practice focuses on post-closing matters, particularly around issues such as amendments, defaults, or restructurings.

Peter has developed strong experience in cross-border matters, including transactions involving both English and U.S. law. He works closely with clients to help them navigate complex transactions and contentious and high-pressure situations.

His arrival further strengthens Dorsey’s ability to support clients on cross-border matters, particularly where UK and U.S. considerations intersect.

Eric Lopez Schnabel, Finance & Restructuring Practice Group Co-Leader at Dorsey & Whitney, said: “Peter is highly regarded for English law financings, restructurings, and seamless transatlantic collaboration. He is also passionate about cross-border collaboration to ensure successful results for clients, which makes him a perfect fit for the Dorsey & Whitney offering.”

Peter Knust, Of Counsel at Dorsey & Whitney, added: “Dorsey’s collaborative culture and existing strength in corporate trust made it the obvious choice for me. It’s a great platform for a specialist practice like mine, and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support clients on complex cross-border matters.”

Peter is recognized as a Recommended Lawyer by Legal 500 and as a Notable Practitioner by IFLR.
