International law firm Dorsey & Whitney is pleased to announce that Attorney Anthony Jones was selected to receive the prestigious “Native American 40 Under 40” award from the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development (NCAIED).
Ben D. Kappelman, a co-chair of Dorsey’s Indian and Alaska Native Practice Group, remarked, “We are thrilled for Anthony, but not surprised. We have the privilege of seeing Anthony’s rising star up close as he brings his wisdom and technical experience to counseling clients and advocating for their interests.”
“It is an honor to be recognized among such esteemed peers across the country,” said Anthony Jones. “I thank NCAIED for recognizing my commitment to doing great work for and in Indian Country. I am thankful to my Dorsey colleagues for nominating me, and I am thankful to my family and my tribe for their unwavering support.”
Anthony is one of a very small number of Native American patent attorneys, and he leverages a broad engineering background to advise clients about protecting their valuable technologies. Anthony also advises and represents tribal governments in relation to litigation and transactional matters, including matters related to economic development, natural resources, and tribal sovereignty. Anthony is an enrolled member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe, and he is based Dorsey’s Seattle office.
“Recipients of the Native American 40 Under 40 awards are no longer just our future; they are leaders in their respective fields,” said Chris James, President and CEO of NCAIED. “From the silver screen to the farm, 2024 awardees are deserving recipients who will continue to make Indian Country proud and our world a better place.”
Honorees are American Indians (including Canadian First Nations), Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiians who are under the age of 40 and have demonstrated leadership, initiative, and dedication while making significant contributions in their professions and communities. Awardees will be honored on March 13 during the Reservation Economic Summit in Las Vegas.
