Overview
Ben has a proven record in high-stakes patent litigation as well as matters involving copyrights, trademarks, unfair competition law, and non-competition agreements. He also helps clients manage technical strategy and the acquisition of companies, licenses, and the permissible uses of technology. Ben represents a diverse client base including technology leaders in computer hardware, software, wireless technology, mobile applications, and medical devices.
He has advocated for clients in many jury and non-jury trials across multiple venues, including United States District Courts, the International Trade Commission, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and Superior Court of California.
Ben’s pro bono work is a core part of his practice. He helped represent South Los Angeles tenants suing their landlords over substandard living conditions, and he obtained a remand of a removal order for a lawful permanent resident in a Ninth Circuit immigration appeal.

- Represented semiconductor company in patent litigation in district court and before the PTAB. Secured finding of invalidity for multiple asserted patents at the PTAB while district court litigation was stayed. *
- Represented technology company in multi-patent litigation at the International Trade Commission. Secured a finding of non-infringement across all patents upon final determination. *
- Represented software company in connection with infringement claims brought by competitor. Secured favorable resolution of the matter before trial. *
- Represented technology company in patent litigation related to video conferencing technology. Secured complete dismissal of the complaint at the pleading stage upon a finding of invalidity under Section 101. *
- Represented technology company in multi-patent infringement litigation related to networking technology. *
- Represented company in a dispute surrounding medical device patents. Secured a favorable resolution of the matter after one week of trial. *
