Overview

KRISTEN HELPS CLIENTS PROSECUTE AND DEFEND COMPLEX COMMERCIAL DISPUTES AND NAVIGATE EMPLOYMENT LAW ISSUES.

Kristen is an associate with Dorsey’s Trial Group in Salt Lake City. She assists clients in complex commercial litigation such as labor and employment, insurance, and products liability matters. Her experience spans multiple industries, including banking, and health care.

Kristen represents clients in class action suits and multi-district litigation, and she appears in both the federal and state courts in Utah, as well as before Utah’s administrative agencies. She has also appeared pro hac vice in several other jurisdictions on behalf of national and international clients. Kristen enjoys advising clients on employment issues and helping efficiently resolve disputes. 

Kristen is a founder and co-president of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion, a board member of the Salt Lake County Bar Association, and an alumna of the Utah Bar’s Leadership Academy. Before graduating magna cum laude at the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University, Kristen interned for the Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court and helped prosecute war crimes at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She also studied international law at Central European University in Budapest and earned a certificate of International Humanitarian Law from the American Red Cross. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Kristen earned a Master’s degree in Second Language Teaching (MSLT), taught at Utah State University for several years, and studied and worked abroad in China, Jerusalem, Costa Rica, Korea, Tanzania, and Hungary.

Community Involvement

Kristen serves as a co-president of the Utah Center for Legal Inclusion (utahcli.org), an emerging organization in Utah aimed at advancing the goals of equity and inclusion in Utah’s legal community.  She also serves on the Executive Committee of the Salt Lake County Bar Association and was co-chair of the 2016 Utah Summer Bar Convention in San Diego, California.  In 2017, Kristen was chosen as a fellow of the Utah Bar’s Leadership Academy.
