Catlan leverages her law firm and in-house experience to counsel clients on intellectual property licensing, technology, and sponsored research agreements in a variety of industries.

Catlan works closely with clients to commercialize their intellectual property through various means including collaboration and development agreements, licenses, and advising on standard templates and business practices. From negotiating nondisclosure agreements in the early stages of a relationship to navigating an exit from supplier, manufacturers, or order fulfillment, Catlan has experience in every step of technology transactions. Catlan also helps clients properly identify and license or purchase the intellectual property and services her clients need to run their own businesses.

Additionally, Catlan regularly acts as an intellectual property and technology specialist on mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures involving significant IP assets.

Prior to joining Dorsey & Whitney, Catlan worked for National Public Radio, Inc. as in-house counsel where she focused on technology and intellectual property licenses, music licenses, software agreements, and content acquisition and distribution agreements.
