Overview

SARAH IS A LITIGATOR WHO HELPS CLIENTS NAVIGATE A BROAD RANGE OF COMPLEX LITIGATION MATTERS AND APPEALS.

Sarah’s practice focuses primarily in the areas of commercial and bankruptcy litigation. Apart from general litigation matters, she regularly represents clients in disputes involving bankruptcy trustees and equity receivers. She also draws on her appellate clerkship experience to assist clients in state, federal, administrative and bankruptcy appeals.

In addition, Sarah assists clients in litigation matters relating to activities on public lands. She regularly represents industry clients in challenges to administrative decisions under the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, National Historic Preservation Act and other federal and state statutes.  

Sarah is also an avid swimmer and triathlete, and she has completed three Ironman triathlons.

Representative Litigation

  • Wickham v. Valeant (D. Utah) - Represented a pharmaceutical company in a breach of contract case
  • Honeywell Intern. Inc. v. Utah ITX Partners, LLC (Utah 3d Dist. Ct.) - Obtained a preliminary injunction enjoining landlord from leasing space to a competitor in violation of the lease
  • UD Dissolution Liquidating Trust v. Sphere 3D Corp. et. al. (Bankr. D. Utah) - Represent technology company and current and former officers in objection to proof of claim and against claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and securities fraud
  • Klein v. Turpin (D. Utah) - Represented the receiver of Ponzi scheme and obtained summary judgment in favor of the receiver to recover fraudulent transfer 
  • In re Castle Arch Real Estate Investment Company, LLC (Bankr. D. Utah) - Represent liquidating trustee asserting securities fraud and breach of fiduciary duty claims against former officers and directors of debtors
  • Page v. BP Express, et. al. (Utah 3d Dist. Ct.) - Represented a restaurant and its majority shareholders against claims for breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duties, and defamation
  • In re Perry Olsen Drywall (Bankr. D. Utah) - Represented a family partnership and individual family members against claims for fraudulent transfer and ERISA withdrawal liability
  • High Country Conservation Advocates v. U.S. Forest Service (D. Colo.) - Represented a mining company in a challenge to lease modifications for a coal mine in Colorado and a challenge to an exception for Colorado Roadless Rule
  • WildEarth Guardians (IBLA) - Represented a mining company in a challenge to a coal leasing decision for a coal mine in Utah
