Overview
Nicole advises clients on trademark and copyright strategy, portfolio management, and enforcement across Hong Kong, China, and internationally.
Nicole advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious IP matters, including trademark and copyright prosecution, opposition, non-use cancellation and invalidation proceedings, domain name disputes as well as Customs investigation and recordals.
Nicole manages global IP portfolios of Hong Kong and foreign clients in formulating trademark prosecution strategy, post-registration recordals, enforcement of IP rights, and negotiation of IP commercialization agreements, etc. Nicole also has a solid background in Chinese IP work, advising foreign clients on proceedings at both the CNIPA and Beijing IP Court level.
She works with leading companies across a wide range of industries with a flexible approach to meet distinct business needs of each client.

- Advising an Australian full-service clinical research organization on trademark prosecution strategy including national filings, IR refusals, non-use cancellation actions, use investigation and Beijing IP Court appeals in China. *
- Advising a manufacturer and distributor of prestige perfumes and cosmetics based in France on international registration refusals of various trademarks. *
- Advising a French manufacturer of luxury lighters on trademark prosecution in China and negotiating coexistence with a multinational chemical company headquartered in the U.S. *
- Advising a U.S. multinational pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technologies corporation on infringements risks of promotional campaigns and trademark prosecution matters. *
- Advising one of the world’s largest luxury goods groups specializing in jewlery and watches on Hong Kong opposition proceedings and negotiating worldwide co-existence agreement with an Italian jewelery brand on the house logo of one of the group’s Maisons. *
- Assisting a leading integrated casino resort in Macau with taking down various infringing domain names and copyright registration of buildings. *
- Managing global IP portfolio of a fashion and lifestyle platform, including worldwide trademark prosecution and assignments with a global mass media company based in the U.S. *
- Advising a leading regional F&B group based in Hong Kong on worldwide trademark clearance searches and enforcement action against infringing mobile app available on Apple Store
- Advising U.S. fashion brands on trademark prosecution in China and actions against bad faith filings from trademark squatters. *
