Peighton appreciates the nuanced approaches to obtaining intellectual property protection. She works closely with clients to identify their business goals and helps them achieve those goals through the tactical construction of their intellectual property rights.

Peighton’s practice involves preparing filing strategies, taking into account various protection options in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions, and drafting and prosecuting design and utility patent applications across a broad range of technologies.  

Peighton also enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the outdoors. She was born and raised in Colorado yet is always surprised to find there is much more to discover.

  • Peighton was an IP associate at Foley & Lardner LLP in Boston.

  • Peighton has experience in preparing and prosecuting design and utility patent applications across a broad range of technologies, including:
    • systems within electric and internal combustion engine vehicles,
    • medical and surgical devices,
    • battery recycling apparatus and processes,
    • smart sprinkler systems, 
    • computer software and hardware,
    • vertical lift and take off aircrafts, and
    • home and consumer products.
  • Peighton performs diligence reviews for companies interested in acquiring IP assets.
  • Peighton conducts freedom to operate, invalidity, and non-infringement analyses as well as prepares corresponding opinions.

Professional Achievements

  • (Previous employment pro bono): Assisted small non-profit formation and annual filings.
  • (Previous employment pro bono): Assisted Afghanistan allies through the charity, No One Left Behind (NOLB).
  • Pro Bono: Conducted a patentability search as well as prepared and filed a utility patent application for a client who is a disabled veteran.
