Brand owners that have questions or concerns about the expansion of the world’s Domain Name System have been given an additional week to voice objections and request additional information. The deadline to submit comments on ICANN’s Draft Applicant Guidebook has been extended to December 15, 2008. The implementation plan for the new domain name regime is available online at http://www.icann.org/en/topics/new-gtlds/comments-en.htm. ICANN is encouraging brand owners to submit comments and suggestions to help it identify and address potential problems with the new gTLD process and to evaluate and offset the prospective negative implications of moving forward with the existing plan.
