Dorsey & Whitney appointed M&A and Private Equity attorney Mark Churchman as a Partner in its London office, strengthening the firm's capability to support mid-market sponsors on U.K. domestic and cross-border transactions. Mark joins Dorsey from Shoosmiths, where he was Partner in the M&A and Private Equity team.
He brings over 15 years’ experience advising U.K., U.S., and European sponsors on investment and M&A opportunities. His practice focuses on mid-market private equity buyouts, bolt-on acquisitions to existing platform investments as well as general portfolio company matters. His work spans multiple sectors, with notable experience in enterprise software, technology, media and telecoms, and energy and infrastructure.
Brian Moore, head of Dorsey’s Global Transactions Business Group, said: “Mark brings exactly the kind of cross-border, private equity experience that aligns perfectly with our platform. His track record of working with both U.S. and U.K. sponsors, combined with his growing network of European clients looking to expand into the U.S. market, makes him an excellent addition to the team."
Mark Churchman, Partner at Dorsey & Whitney, added: "Dorsey's mid-market focus and geographic footprint – particularly the U.S. platform with offices across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific – creates real opportunities to add value for clients. The collaborative culture and clear commitment to building strength in key sectors made this the perfect fit. I'm looking forward to working with colleagues across the firm to support sponsors on their most important transactions."
Mark is recognized as a Recommended Lawyer by Legal 500 for both M&A up to £100 million and Technology, Media, and Telecoms. He has also been featured in Financier World's distinguished advisor list for private equity.
