International law firm Dorsey & Whitney LLP announced today that Cody S. D. Wamsley has joined the Firm’s Minneapolis office as an associate. Mr. Wamsley’s practice focuses on counseling clients on information security program development, regulatory compliance, data breaches and proactive breach prevention.  He received his B.S. in business administration at the University of Kansas School of Business, his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law, and his LL.M. in intellectual property law from The George Washington University Law School. 

Mr. Wamsley joins Dorsey from McDonald Hopkins LLC, in Chicago, where he was a data privacy & cybersecurity associate. He previously managed third-party information security risk at American Express and served as in-house patent counsel at a cybersecurity startup.  Cody, a registered patent attorney, brings technical experience advising on global data security and privacy issues, negotiating and drafting complex technology contracts, and providing counsel on technology transactions.
