Mr. Sullivan is a Partner in Dorsey's Trial group. He has over 20 years of experience as trial lawyer and has acted as legal counsel in broad variety of matters including complex commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, financial services litigation and white collar crime.

From 1984-1989 he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. He has served as trial counsel in more than 25 jury trials, as well as representing clients in arbitrations and mediations. Mr. Sullivan is also active in pro bono matters and serves as the Pro Bono Partner in Dorsey's New York office.

  • Osteotech, Inc. v. GenSci OrthoBiologics, Inc. (co-trial counsel to plaintiff in patent infringement action resulting in damages award of $17.5 million; IP Worldwide listed the verdict as one of the ten largest IP jury verdicts in 2001)
  • Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation and Synthes Spine Company, L.P. v. Osteotech, Inc. (co-counsel representing defendant patentee in declaratory judgment action concerning demmeralized bone powder products)
  • NSN International Industries v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours (lead counsel in defense of trade secret action)
  • Creaciones Viviana v. Banco Atlantico (lead counsel in defense of action brought pursuant to Right to Financial Privacy Act and Electronic Communications Privacy Act)
  • Meridien International Bank v. The Government of the Republic of Liberia (lead counsel in action against The Government of Liberia involving, inter alia, The Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act)
  • Bayside International Corp. v. Banco Caldas (lead trial counsel in defense of lender liability action)
