Overview

MARK BRINGS OVER THIRTY YEARS OF LITIGATION EXPERIENCE TO THE PRACTICAL AND PRAGMATIC RESOLUTION OF COMPLEX BUSINESS DISPUTES.

Mark is a partner in Dorsey’s Trial Group and has represented clients at the trial and appellate level in federal and state courts throughout the country. He has served as lead trial counsel in more than 25 jury trials. He represents clients in a broad variety of matters including complex commercial litigation, financial services litigation and intellectual property litigation. Mark served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office from 1984-1989.

Mark served as the chair of the firm’s Professional Personnel Committee from 2017-2022.

  • Agurcia v. Republic of Honduras, Case No. 21-13276 (11th Cir. 2022)(obtained dismissal of all claims on Foreign Sovereign Immunity Act grounds)
  • Favorably defended and settled $30 million food contamination case brought against supplier of food packaging (Pennsylvania State Court 2016)
  • Seijas v. Republic of Argentina and Banco de la Nación Argentina, 2012 WL 5259030 (2d Cir. 2012) (lead counsel on behalf of Argentine bank in defense of Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act action argued before and upheld by the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit)
  • Figuerido v. Republic of Peru, 665 F.3d 384 (2d Cir. 2011) (co-counsel for the Republic of Peru in obtaining reversal on appeal dismissing action to enforce an arbitration award pursuant to the Panama Convention)
  • EM Ltd. and NML Capital, Ltd. v. Republic of Argentina and Banco de la Nación Argentina, 2009 WL 3149601 (S.D.N.Y. Sept. 30, 2009) (lead counsel in defense of Foreign Sovereign Immunity Act action)
  • Rosales v. Transameria Merchant International (Supreme Court, New York County 2008) (lead trial counsel in obtaining defense verdict in favor of Chilean investment firm)
  • Osteotech, Inc. v. GenSci OrthoBiologics, Inc. (C.D. Cal. 2001) (co-trial counsel to plaintiff in patent infringement action resulting in damages award of $17.5 million in a jury trial; IP Worldwide listed the verdict as one of the ten largest IP jury verdicts in 2001)
  • NSN International Industries v. E.I. du Pont de Nemours (lead trial counsel in defense of trade secret action)
