Chris Ryan is a senior associate in Dorsey's Trial group, and a member of Dorsey's Construction and Design practice group. Since he joined Dorsey in 2003, he has focused his practice on construction disputes, consumer litigation defense and general commercial litigation. Mr. Ryan has been involved in a number of construction litigation matters, from major construction catastrophes and complex litigation, in which he is a key player on a larger Dorsey team, to breach of contract, delay, disruption, and construction defect claims, in which he has regularly acted as lead counsel. This broad base of experience has allowed Mr. Ryan to work closely with contractors, owners, engineers, and architects, giving him insight into the construction industry as a whole. He uses this industry knowledge not only to assist clients to resolve their construction disputes, but also to help clients avoid disputes in the first place.
Mr. Ryan is active in the construction law community. He is a Council Member of the Minnesota State Bar Association Construction Law Section and speaks on a number of construction issues. Mr. Ryan also has a commitment to helping Dorsey meet the Pro Bono Challenge, and has worked on a variety of pro bono matters during his years at the firm, including representing various churches and non-profits in construction defect litigation. Mr. Ryan has also represented churches, non-profits, and individuals in landlord/tenant unlawful detainer actions.
