Michael Reeslund is a partner in Dorsey's Corporate Group. He practices in the areas of corporate and securities law, with emphasis on structured financings and municipal finance. Mr. Reeslund has more than 30 years’ experience in structured and municipal finance. During that time, he has gained knowledge in all aspects of structured and municipal finance, including legal, disclosure and structuring considerations.

He has worked, primarily as issuer's counsel, underwriter's counsel and bond counsel (but also as insurer’s and trustee's counsel), on a wide variety of both publicly offered and privately placed transactions, with assets such as student loans, mortgage loans, home equity and home improvement loans, equipment leases and municipal leases.

Representative Transactions

Represented programs in the States of California, South Dakota and Montana in connection with more than 50 securitizations of student loans totaling in excess of $8 billion.
Represented AT&T Capital Corporation in connection with its $3.2 billion securitization of lease receivables in 1996, as well as subsequent securitizations aggregating over $3 billion.
Represented issuer in connection with the first reorganization of a student loan secondary market organization under Section 150(d) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Represented GE Capital Public Finance, Inc. in the first publicly offered securitization of municipal leases, as well as two subsequent such securitizations.
