Ruth Porter is an associate in Dorsey’s Regulatory Affairs department. She practices in the areas of oil, gas, and electric regulation before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state public utility commissions. She also handles related appeals.
Ruth works with oil and gas companies on a range of litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. She has extensive experience with rate cases before FERC and the Regulatory Commission of Alaska. She has also represented clients in matters before the California Public Utilities Commission.
Ruth works with electric utilities on regulatory, enforcement, and transactional matters. She has experience with mergers and acquisitions involving merchant generating assets, including securing the necessary FERC approvals. She has also worked on FERC enforcement matters.
