Payton supports clients through all stages of the litigation lifecycle.

As an attorney in Dorsey’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice group, Payton adeptly navigates the complexities of both protecting clients’ intellectual property rights and defending against infringement claims. With extensive experience in patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret litigation, Payton excels in conducting thorough legal research, drafting highly technical briefs, and leading comprehensive e-discovery processes. Her expertise also extends to strategic IP counseling.

Beyond her litigation work, Payton is deeply committed to pro bono service. She has undertaken numerous cases involving Native American child protection and has worked tirelessly to secure relief for wrongly incarcerated individuals. Payton holds a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she contributed as a Managing Editor for the Minnesota Law Review and worked with the Innocence Project of Minnesota. She also earned a B.S. in Biology from the University of Notre Dame, enriching her insights into the IP challenges faced by the life sciences and biotechnology industries.
