Former MLB Slugger Lenny Dykstra Sued for Copyright Infringement
Dorsey partner Bruce Ewing commented in The New York Post on a lawsuit involving his client Doubledown Media and former Mets slugger Lenny "The Dude" Dykstra. Doubledown was the original publisher of Dykstra's magazine, The Players Club, but following a dispute Dykstra filed suit against Doubledown and had the second issue printed by another printer. In a countersuit, Doubledown claimed Dykstra stole the second issue, which allegedly featured copyrighted material put together by Doubledown staffers and freelancers. The freelance writers have yet to receive compensation for their articles.
Ewing said "Dykstra and his company took the issue, printed it without authorization, and now seem to expect other people to pay for it. We're going after them to get everyone paid in full."
