Ms. Morao is an associate in Dorsey & Whitney's Trial Group. Her practice focuses on the representation of corporations, financial institutions, and foreign sovereigns in international, federal, and state litigation and arbitration. She has experience in a wide array of matters, including disputes alleging violations of bilateral investment treaties, U.S. securities laws, Indian
and gaming law; international and foreign environmental regulations, business torts, unfair competition claims, insurance recovery, products liability, contract disputes, trade secret misappropriation, and consumer class actions. Ms. Morao has also represented creditors in resolving complex bankruptcy and restructuring issues. Ms. Morao recently gained extensive trial and litigation experience as a Deputy District Attorney through the Orange County District Attorney Trial Attorney Partnership program. She is currently serving as Dorsey & Whitney’s representative on the Orange County Diversity Task Force.
While earning her J.D., Ms. Morao served as Executive Editor for the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law and volunteered as a legal interpreter for the Asian Pacific American Legal Resource Center in Washington, DC. Ms. Morao also worked for the Georgetown University Law Center's International Women's Human Rights Clinic, where she helped draft proposed legislation and human rights reports to promote the land and property rights of women in Swaziland. Ms. Morao has a professional proficiency in Spanish and Tagalog and an intermediate proficiency in French.
