Mr. Magid is a partner, head of the Dorsey Washington DC office, a member of the Electronic Discovery practice group, and co-chair of the firm-wide Products Liability practice.  Practices in the areas of fiduciary litigation, technology litigation, commercial litigation, and products liability litigation.

Representative Litigation

Mr. Magid has a national practice, trying high-profile cases to verdict across the country. He has represented clients in complex litigation involving, among other things, claims of breach of fiduciary duties, fraud, theft of trade secrets, breach of contract, breach of warranty, patent infringement, and product liability. Verdicts Mr. Magid has won for his clients have appeared multiple times among the Top 100 verdicts nationally, including a $103.9 million verdict on a counterclaim that accompanied a defense verdict for his client. Mr. Magid also successfully tried the landmark $250+ million breach of fiduciary duty and breach of contract case involving the ownership of Mall of America. In product liability and technology litigation, he has defended clients in cases involving products as diverse as catalytic oxidizers, test equipment for high-speed helicopter engines, medical devices, motor vehicles, asbestos, insecticides, and large-scale machine tools. In commercial litigation, he represents clients ranging from financial institutions to technology companies in matters involving such areas as trade secrets, licensing and marketing agreements, sales of businesses, fraud and misrepresentation, partnership disputes, and false advertising. Mr. Magid also represents clients in matters involving the Consumer Products Safety Commission.
