Firm News: Dorsey Ranks Among Top Firms For Mergers and Acquisitions in 2008

MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 6, 2009) — International law firm Dorsey & Whitney ranked #3 among all U.S. law firms for the number of U.S. merger and acquisition (M&A) deals completed in 2008, according to Thomson Reuters, a leading provider of financial information and services. Dorsey completed 160 U.S. M&A transactions valued at more than $6.5 billion.

Since Thomson Reuters began publishing law firm M&A rankings in 1994 (under the name Thomson Financial Data), Dorsey has ranked #5 or higher every year for the number of U.S. deals completed annually.

Dorsey also excelled in M&A work globally, with a #10 ranking for the number of deals completed worldwide. The firm completed 207 M&A deals on a worldwide basis valued at more than $20 billion.
