Kerith is a patent associate in the Intellectual Property practice group in the Denver office of Dorsey & Whitney. Her practice primarily involves the preparation and prosecution of national and international patent applications; developing and managing strategic patent portfolios; preparing and negotiating patent, technology and other intellectual property licenses and agreements; and drafting non-infringement, invalidity and freedom to operate opinions. Her experience also includes advising on licensing strategies and performing due diligence work in venture capital and mergers and acquisitions in the life sciences industry.
Kerith has patent prosecution experience primarily in the areas of medical devices and biotechnology. Her experience includes medical devices and surgical methods in the areas of laparoscopic surgical devices, carpal and cubital tunnel surgical devices, orthopedics, including joint replacement implants, wound healing devices, neuromodulation devices and methods, devices and methods related to diagnosis and treatment of spinal cord injuries and related pain, cardiology, including stents, leads and delivery tools, surgical planning systems, patient transport devices, and systems for creating bone substitute materials. She also has experience in biological therapeutics and clinical and research diagnostics including sequence-based and research diagnostics applications. Kerith's other patent prosecution experience includes load moving machines and associated hitches, environmental remediation processes and equipment, financial services products and business methods related thereto, building materials and consumer products.
Prior to joining Dorsey, Kerith was a contract licensing associate with the University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center.
